Laserline has acquired 70 percent of the shares of the US laser specialist WBC Photonics, headquartered in Boston. Through this acquisition, Laserline is expanding its solution portfolio to include blue laser systems with particularly very high beam qualities of better than 4 mm mrad - the Blue Ultra Brilliant Diode Laser. This positions Laserline as a full-service provider for diode lasers in the blue wavelength range and covers a broad product spectrum from systems with high focusability to power levels in the multi-kW range.
The Wavelength Beam Combining (WBC) technology enables high brightness lasers in any available diode wavelenghts between 405 to 1030 nm (quantum cascade laser). The blue laser wavelength is of particular interest. With the CW blue laser in kW power levels and a beam parameter product smaller than 4 mm mrad, the light absorption in all materials is increased.
With the integration of a blue WBC Photonics blade engine into a Laserline supply unit, a new blue brilliant diode laser up to 400 W is developed. The industry proven Laserline supply unit LDF as well as Laserline service and look & feel set the standard for this new LDFblue wbc laser.
With 350 W laser power and a small spot size very thin layers are 3D printed. The result is a very small component of 21 mm x 21 mm x 10 mm out of 250 pure copper layers.
