Tailored Laser Beam Sources

From beam generation to workpiece - industrial suited system solutions for laser material processing

High Power Diode Lasers for Industry

From laser beam generation to the workpiece, Laserline offers industrial-grade system solutions for laser material processing. From the compact 19-inch rack-mount variant to mobile devices with external or internal cooling unit to highly specialized optics.

With more than 7,500 installations, Laserline's high-power lasers are among the most successful beam sources for industrial applications in the multi-kilowatt range. Modular design, high efficiency and very high reliability with low maintenance requirements are appreciated by our customers worldwide.

The Diode Laser - A Paradigm Shift

The ongoing further development of fiber-coupled diode lasers has been driven forward in the company for more than 25 years.

The first conventional solid-state lasers or gas lasers in materials processing were large, stationary devices with low efficiency used for cutting and welding metals. Comparable to the groundbreaking changes in electronics in the middle of the last century with the replacement of the tube by the transistor, a shift in industrial lasers towards high-power semiconductor lasers or diode-based lasers is taking place today.

Today, Laserline has achieved power increases into the multi-kilowatt range with its high-power lasers. In addition, there is a steady development towards ever more brilliant beam quality.

Energy-efficient Laser Systems

Not only our company itself, but also our products and the applications they enable are designed to be sustainable. Compared to other laser types, such as fiber or disk lasers, the diode laser is the most energy-efficient laser up to over 50 percent efficiency. No other laser has a comparable electrical efficiency. If a diode laser is operated with renewable energies in the future, it can replace a large number of thermal processes, such as drying or heating, which are currently generated by gas or other fossil media, in a climate-neutral way. This is comparable to a heat pump replacing a gas or oil heating system.

Blue Diode Laser - Laser of the Future

Laserline's blue high-power diode laser series optimizes the processing of copper, gold and their alloys in many ways. With approximately 445 nm wavelength, they are the ideal beam sources for laser processing of highly reflective metals. The several times higher absorption allows significantly lower intensities and larger laser spots.

Many developments for precision processing, such as remote welding applications, require industrial-grade beam sources with high power and simultaneously high brilliance. Here, the Laserline beam converter concept ideally combines the high power, modularity, practicality and economy of LDF diode lasers with high beam qualities.
